I'm a mere Yankee relocated here 26 yrs ago due to my husband's medical career. Let me tell you, I am quite happy today! I come from Providence, R.I. I was raised in Brown University country. If you ever visit the East side, you would understand what I mean. The area is like a little melting pot of cultures i.e. Portuguese, Italian, Vietnamese, Colombian, African American, Jewish etc... All living and sharing together their own personal gifts to the spice pot. They provide ready made delights made from scratch, reflecting each of their own heritages, just the way Grandma use too. You must go visit The Breadhouse to understand the pleasures of available homemade goodness from this lovely committed staff. The breads,cookies and special dietary items were superb! The ladies were so helpful and a pleasure to talk with as they expressed their committment to the mission of GRACE WAY, a shelter in the storm for women with substance abuse issues. Please support this bakery in their missionary work to give back life, dignity and respect to woman in need and remember all proceeds keep this bakery alive.
